What to Bring

Expect to be up, on the mountain and working from 8:00AM through 3:00PM, with breaks to rest and eat in the Warming Tent or at Dusty's.  Occasionally, for some crews, the work day could be longer.

We recommend the following kit:

  • Rock skis
  • work gloves with spares
  • No ski poles   
  • headlamp (if you own one)
  • Backpack
  • cramp-ons (if you own them)
  • Thermos
  • Ski clothes
  • Winter Boots
  • Hydration
  • Rain slicker

  • helmet
  • sun screen
  • Swiss army knife
  • sun glasses
  • Food
  • drinks (all kinds)
  • Advil, imodium, Tylenol, Vitamin "I"
  •  Weasel Water
  •  Band Aids
  •  Last Will and Testament!
  •  pillow (if you don't make it home from the Beer Tent)

The following equipment can be obtained from the Equipment Crew

  •  Duct Tape
  • Twine
  • Box-cutter knife

Patman on the AirSometimes, once or twice in a very long time (and infrequently, at that) we work in the rain. Those accostomed to the sunshine and powder snow of Whistler laugh at the idea, but it is true.  Also, be aware that less than perfect weather seems to enervate Weasel Workers, inspiring them to work longer and harder.  There are no "down days" for weather.

For your mullti-day stint at Whistler, be prepared for the worst and bring extra outer wear, in case your outside clothing does not dry overnight.  A rain cape with sleeves can be great insurance.
