Subject: An opportunity to "Conquer Cancer"
Dear Friends:
You will likely agree that any form of cancer is the most
terrible disease
we can face - one which causes serious hardships,
relentless struggles and
way too often results in the loss of the life of family
and loved ones.
Regrettably it can and probably has already touched each
of us.
Twenty six years ago, my mother-in-law, Patricia Roth,
made a valiant
attempt to fight her battle with cancer. She lost the battle and passed
away before I ever met her, before her youngest daughter
married and long
before the birth of her granddaughter - Meagan. Patricia's life was full
but all too short and she never enjoyed the cherished
memories of watching
her family and friends grow up.
In her memory and in an effort to raise the resources
needed to find the
cure for cancer, I am participating in an epic bike ride
called: the Ride
to Conquer Cancer.
The two day ride, to be held in this June, will start
in Vancouver and end 250 km later in Seattle. I will be joined by several
hundred other riders - all busting a gut for the same
cause - to raise
money to find the cure for cancer.
I've agreed to raise at least $2,500, but I've set my
personal goal much
higher. So here's
where you come in, I need your help to reach that lofty
goal. Please consider making a generous donation to my
ride. Keep in mind
the commitment we are all making to end this
heartbreaking disease and the
personal effort I will make to accomplish this.
At the bottom of this e-mail is a link to my web page -
take the time to
visit it and please support me. All the proceeds will go
to BC Cancer
Foundation to support cancer research, treatment, and
services. BC Cancer
Foundation is a leading comprehensive institution devoted
to cancer
research and care, and the work they're doing is
cutting-edge.
In advance of your generosity, thanks so much.
Sincerely,
Richard Prokopanko
