Robert Kwong photography and graphicsRobert Kwong   - Visual Comunicator -  Robert is a reknowned photographer based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.   Famous for his dramatic Adventure Photography, Corporate Image Photography, and stunning Portrait Photography, Robert has established clientele from some of Vancouver's largest corporations and sporting events, as well as very satisfied personal clients.   The aerial images used for the  Dave Murray Olympic downhill course manual are the work of Robert Kwong.  Robert takes many photographs of activities in and about Whistler, including Weasel setup of ski races.

BC Alpine  -  home to alpine ski racing in British Columbia .   BC Alpine strives to develop ski racers to have fun through competition, to be of the highest quality, and to be adaptable as they progress through the system.  BC Alpine is a great source of skiing news from BC , from the Canadian Alpine Ski Team and from throughout  the skiing world.

Alberta Alpine Ski AssociationAlberta Alpine  -   the governing body for alpine ski racing in the Province of Alberta. The Association represents over 30 ski clubs province wide and coordinates and supports skiing development and racing programs for athletes starting at age 5 through to adult ages.


Ontario Alpine Ski AssociationAlpine Ontario Alpin  -  as the recognized Provincial Sport Organization (PSO) and promoter of competitive alpine ski racing in Ontario, AOA represents four divisions, 45 member clubs and over 30,000 active athletes, coaches and officials (volunteers). AOA coordinates several successful programs across the province and continues to foster the development of "state of the art" ski-racing programs from the grass roots level to the elite level.

Whistler Mountain Ski ClubWhistler Mountain Ski Club  - since 1968 the Whistler Mountain Ski Club has been Developing Champions!  WMSC is dedicated to the development of snow sports (specifically Alpine Ski Racing) from entry level ages to Masters in all  disciplines. The Club  created and runs The Sierra Wireless Whistler Cup, which has evolved into a world-class juvenile event.In 2007, this event attracted over 400 racers from 20 countries, promising some of the best competition in the world for young alpine ski racers. The Whistler Weasel Workers have their firmly roots set  in the earliest days of the WMSC, and today many Weasels are club members and active in its activites.  The Weasels salute the WMSC for the success of its ski programs. The WMSC have a  proud record of developing  alpine ski racers who have been successful on the CAST.

Red Mountain Racers logoRed Mountain Racers  -  dating back to the 1940's,  the Red Mountain Ski Club has put more athletes on the Canadian National Alpine Ski Team then any other ski club in Canada.  The small mountain town of Rossland has a long history of strong community  support and involvement, and this has had a huge effect on the success of Red Mountain ski racers,.  To date , Rossland has generated over 35 National Team and Development  Team members.  For over 50 years, National Team members have been returning to Rossland to coach and inspire the next generation of Red Mountain Racers.  Over 30 Olympic, World Cup and World Championship medals have been won by Red Mountain Racers.

Camp Fortune Ski Club logoCamp Fortune Ski Club  -   a leading Alpine ski racing club allowing its athletes to achieve their personal best and grow from their experiences and coaches to learn and develop. CFSC provides Alpine ski racing programs from Nancy Greene to Junior in the National Capital Outaouais Region.   CFSC creates a bilingual supportive competitive sport environment that allows all child athletes to achieve their personal best and to grow from their experiences in an environment where coaches are encouraged to learn and develop.

Banff Alpine Racers logoBanff Alpine Racers & Bow Valley Quikies @ Norquay  - a ski racing club with programs that build upon a strong foundation and the use a systematic development system allowing young athletes to maximize their personal development through sport. One of our principle mandates  is to make skiing and ski racing accessible to a large number of families.  Our success depends on the active participation of parents in various fundraising and volunteer activities, which is greatly appreciated.

Wentworth Ski Racing Club - Nova ScotiaWentworth Ski Racing Club -  The Wentworth Ski Racing Club hopes to foster a love of skiing and the sport of ski racing. WSRC provides participants age six and up with an opportunity to improve their basic skill by working their way through a structured program. Located in Bedford NS, the club operates five programs:  • Nancy Greene Husky Snow Stars  • K1 Race Team  • Senior Race Team (FIS Program)  • Coach In Training  • University Racing.   Programs run each weekend for 9 weekends starting on January 7, 2006.  The Wentworth Ski Racing Club (WSRC) is a not-for-profit organization and is completely separate from Wentworth “The Hill”.    
Ski Ward Race Team
Ski Ward Race Team   -  a member of the the Eastern Massachusetts Buddy Werner League, the SWRT draws from a number of  ski areas northeast of Boston.   The Ski Ward Race Team is open to children and teenagers who are interested in skiing competitively.   The competition season consists of eight races (Slalom and Giant Slalom) that take place on Sundays starting in early January.   The program includes regular training and an end-of-season league championship.  SWRT events are  run by volunteer race workers.

Modern Ski Racing ClinicsModern Ski Racing  -   brings you the most comprehensive recreational racing resource. We're in the business of making you ski faster. The mission of MODERN SKI RACING is to share with recreational skiers and racers the technical principles that make such upper level skiing possible, and to make available a means for those recreational level skiers to assimilate those technical skills into their own skiing.  Modern Ski Racing Team offered two unique Race Camps geared for both Recreational and Master level Racers at Wolf Mountain Ski Area, in Eden, Utah, host mountain to Modern Ski Racing's permanent training centers.

Meadows Race Team from Mt Hood, Oregon, USAMeadows Race Team  -  Mt. Hood's Official Ski Racing Team trains young ski racers in the J1, J2, J3 and Mighty Mite age categories.  MRT ski racers compete in the Pacific Northwest Ski Association’s Divisional Team "Buddy Werner" Championship for boys and girls.

Alpina Safety SystemsAlpina  Safety Systems  -  safety net systems for ski runs and alpine ski racing including A-Nets, B-Nets, Crowd Control Nets and a variety of other safety equipment.    Alpina has supplied safety net systems for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, to be held on Whistler Mountain.  These Alpina net systems were in use for the 2008 Telus Whistler World Cup and the 2008 Canadian Alpine Ski Championships.  The Whistler Weasel Workers Training Section  contains information about Alpina A-Nets and B-Nets.

World Cup Supply logoWorld Cup Supply  -  offers a complete inventory of equipment and supplies for alpine ski racing.  World Cup Supply provided SPM Airfence safety systems for the 2008 Telus Whistler World Cup alpine ski races at Whistler Mountain. They are also a supplier to the WMSC and have helped out at the Whistler Cup ski races for juveniles.   World Cup Supply has been selling ski area and event supplies since 1991. Whistler Adaptive Ski ProgramWhistler Adaptive Sports Program (WASP) Whistler Adaptive Sports Program (WASP) is a not-for-profit society that provides year-around, recreational programs for people of all ages with disabilities.  The Whistler Weasel Workers salute the many WASP volunteers who can be seen in action on Whistler daily during the Winter months, and now during the Summer months, as well.  WASP has recently become involved in alpine ski racing and snowboard racing, running the Adaptive Alpine Race Development Program. Each April, WASP hosts the Annual Rotary Recreational GS for Disabled Skiers.

DisabledVancouver Adaptive Snow Sports (VASS) runs skiing and snowboarding programs for persons with a disability at Grouse, Seymour and Cypress Mountains.  VASS makes the mountain experience accessible to all.  We welcome students of all ages and disabilities and utilize adaptive equipment and/or specialized teaching techniques to maximize a person’s independence on the snow.

VASS Challenge Cup  -  the annual  adaptive Snow Sports competion will be held on Vancouver's Grous Mountain on Feb 26th 2009.  Visit our Web site and join the list of 13 teams already entered, or  register to be a volunteer or as a sponsor.  There will be some Whistler Weasel Workers helping out so why not join us, if you are in BC's Lower Mainland.

DisabledDisabled Skiers Association of BC (DSABC) offers a number of ski programs throughout British Columbia. Depending on the need in various Zone areas, DSABC runs a variety of alpine and nordic programs. The eight zones are responsible for the learn-to-ski programs in their region. The specifics of each program may differ according to the zone.

VancouverVancouver Island Society for Adaptive Snowsports (VISAS) Based at Mount Washington Alpine Resort, Courtenay, B.C. on Vancouver Island., we focus on providing Nationally Certified Snowsports Instruction to physically or mentally challenged persons.  We are here to help you accent your abilities in a fun and encouraging environment.  Membership is open to disabled persons of all ages who wish to ski a group of trained volunteer instructors who offer quality individual instruction accent on ability.

Silver Star Adaptive Snow SportsSilver Star Adaptive Snow Sports (SSASS) was founded in 1992 as a local association of volunteer instructors who wished to share their joy of snow sports by teaching people with disabilities. We provide ski and snowboard lessons for students of all ages with a variety of disabilities.   Students range from complete novices to advanced skiers/snowboarders and include residents from the Thompson-Okanagan area, grade 6 and 7 students from local schools, as well as ski area guests who come from all over the world.

Canadian Association for Disabled SkiersCanadian Association for Disabled Skiing (CADS) is a volunteer based organization having as its main objective, assisting individuals with a disability to lead richer and fuller lives through active participation in recreational and competitive snow skiing and snowboarding. CADS is a national organization with 1,130 disabled members and 1,900 able-bodied volunteers from all regions of Canada, committed to the idea that Skiing is for Everyone.

Adaptive Action SportsAdaptive Action Sports (AAS)   Adaptive Action Sports creates programs and opportunities for individuals with permanemt physical disabilities to participate in 'action sports' and or the art and music scene that follows them.  Together with Windell's Ski and Snowboard Camp, AAS sponsors a biannual Mt Hood-based Freestyle Session allowing the addaptive shredder an opportunity to ride with the Pros and to sharpen their skills.  

Ontario Disabled Alpine Racing teamOntario Disabled Alpine Racing Team (ODART)-  a not- for-profit organization whose mission is to Educate, Promote and Develop Elite Disabled Racing Athletes in .   Through the assistance of sponsorships and donations, our members train, compete and promote alpine ski racing locally, Provincially, Nationally & Internationally.  Our Team consist of mono/hemi, amputee  & blind ski race members who have competed at both regional and national levels with goals to compete at the world level. We are also active in developing a junior program for the under 20 group.

Ontario Disabled Alpine Racing teamEastern Townships Disabled  Skiers Foundation  -  The  E.T.D.S.F. operates educational programs that encourage physically disabled children and adults to discover new abilities through alpine skiing and water sports. E.T.D.S.F. provides trained volunteers who will assist these individuals to become independent as skiers and in other aspects of their lives through developing self-confidence, self-motivation, increased physical strength and improved self-image while learning a lifelong sport/skill to be enjoyed with family and friends. based in Knowlton, Quebec, our winter programs are based at Owl,s Head Ski resort.

International Paralympic CommitteeInternational Paralympic Committee (IPC) - The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) is the global governing body of the Paralympic Movement. The IPC organizes the Summer and Winter Paralympic Games, and serves as the International Federation for nine sports, for which it supervises and co-ordinates the World Championships and other competitions. In 2009 the IPC World Cup comes to Whistler Mountain.  The Whistler Weasel Workers will be there to assist with the preparations.

Disabled Sports USADisabled Sports USA   (DS/USA)  -  Our Mission: "To provide the opportunity for individuals with disabilities to gain confidence and dignity through participation in sports, recreation and related educational programs."  Originally established in 1967 by disabled Vietnam veterans to serve the war injured, DS/USA now offers nationwide sports rehabilitation programs to anyone with a permanent disability. Activities include winter skiing, water sports, summer and winter competitions, fitness and special sports events.

Disability Snowsports UK Disability Snowsports UK    -   DSUK is a people-centred organisation with a unique sense of purpose:  that anyone regardless of their disability can take part in and enjoy the thrill of snowsport.  For nearly 30 years we have applied exceptional know-how and adaptability to enable those with a disability to experience the joy of skiing alongside the able-bodied.   We provide exciting and life enhancing activities for individuals or groups who require adaptive equipment and/or special instruction and support.

Adaptive Snowsports New ZealandDisabled Snowsports NZ   -   Adaptive Snow Sports in New Zealand is run as a Not-For-Profit organisation. and a registered charity. We rely upon the generosity of our sponsors and supporters to run our programmes and to enable people with disabilities to enjoy skiing and snow boarding. Disabled Wintersport AustraliaDisabled Wintersport Australia  -  Disabled WinterSport Australia is a multi-faceted, self-help sporting organisation founded in 1978 by Australia's first Paralympic skier Ron Finneran and Canadian instructor Bruce Abel. The purpose of DWA is to provide opportunities for people with disabilities to enjoy winter sports and, equally importantly, to enjoy the magnificent environment that is Australia's Snowy Mountains with fellow skiers.    

Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center (BOEC)Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center  - The Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center (BOEC) is a national leader in outdoor adventure education serving all people, while ensuring that the outdoors is accessible to those with special needs.  The BOEC was established in Breckenridge, Colorado, in 1976 as a non-profit educational organization to provide outdoor experiences for people with disabilities and to train the instructors who work with special populations. Ultimately, the BOEC strives to integrate disability with ability, providing outdoor experiences to all.    We welcome people of all abilities from around the world to spectacular natural classrooms in the Rocky Mountains and beyond.   

Able Management Group - Harrietville, AustraliaThe Able Management Group - The AMG is a non-profit charity for disabled persons giving them access and adaptive equipment so they can participate in activities beyond their reach. AMG provides skiing, snowboarding, buggy riding, motor biking, paragliding, mountain and hand cycling, fishing, 4 Wheel driving, camping and accommodation in Harrietville, Australia, at the base of Mt Feathertop.

Disabled Snowsports Canterbury - Christchurch and Mt Hutt, NZDisabled Snowsports Canterbury   - based in Christchurch, New Zealand, Disabled Snowsports Canterbury is a non-profit organisation with a motto of: Safety, Fun, and Learning. We encourage people with disabilities to learn to ski not only for recreation, but to experience the sense of freedom of mobility, a means of building self esteem, independence and confidence. We supply adaptive equipment which ensures comfortable, confident skiing for all of our members.  We operate three ski day trips to Mt Hutt every week with our Instructor and Assistant Instructor plus volunteer helpers.

Apex Ski Club of Penticton BCApex Ski Club -  Located on Apex Mountain, just west of Penticton, the Apex Ski Club is dedicated to the promotion of alpine skiing for youth living in BC's sunny South Okanagan.  The Apex Ski Club strives to make skiing a life long sport for its youth, to develop skiing abilities, to provide quality alpine race training experiences and to have FUN along the way.  The Apex Ski Club sponsors racing programs for all ages from 11 yrs  through to adulthood.


Cypress Ski Club of West VancouverCypress Ski Club -  At Cypress Bowl, in West Vancouver, BC, the Cypress Ski Club  offers on-snow and dryland programs for young skiers all the way from the Alcan Nancy Greene junior skiers, through the juvenile racers to young adults racing in  national and international competition.

Big White Racers -  The Kelwona Ski Club, under the Big Racers banner, offers on-snow and dryland programs for young skiers all the way from the Alcan Nancy Greene junior skiers, through the juvenile racers to young adults racing in  national and international competition. The Big Winter Racers compete each hear at the Whistler Cup international juvinile races, when they are always a  force to be recognized.

Mt Washington Ski ClubMt Washington Ski Club -  Located on Vancouver Island, west of Comox, near beautiful Strathcona Park, the Mt Washington Ski Club provides a high quality and affordable competitive ski program that: builds character and self-esteem in participants.  The available ski programs range from the Nancy Greene Ski League through Kinder and Junior programs, and include a more general "All Mountain" program."    The Club is the home of the  Mt. Washington Marmots, a well  known and much respected organization of volunteer ski race workers.  

Summit Ski Club of Winnipeg, ManitobaSummit Ski Club  -  A non-profit alpine ski organization where members cooperate to encourage growth in knowledge and skill development in a safe, fun, and supportive environment.   Located in Winnipeg, Manitoba  the Summit Ski Club is based at the  Springhill Winter Sports Park.  The club runs a Nancy Greene program for ages 6 - 12 and participates in the Manitoba Alpine Ski Series (MASS) for ages 11 and up.  
 

Georgian Peaks Club - OntarioGeorgian Peaks Club -  From humble beginnings in 1959, The Georgian Peaks Club has been dedicated to racing excellence, and, despite of its relatively small membership base, has achieved greater racing success than any other ski area in Eastern Canada. A total of ten Georgian Peaks members have made the National Alpine Ski Team at one time or another. This is more than the combined total of all the other clubs in the area. Karen Stemmle, Greg Grossmann, Todd Brooker, and Brian Stemmle are a few of the World Cup caliber skiers who at very young ages learned how to carve a turn on what are Ontario's longest and most challenging ski slopes.
